Holmenkollen

Posted by Morten in General

I went to Holmenkollen and watched the ski jumping competition today. It was a average competition with only one round because of strong wind. No spectacular long jumps and no big success for the norwegians. Here’s a couple of pictures from the famous ski jumping hill in Oslo.

Time to blog again

Posted by Morten in General

Hello! It’s been a while since my last blog entry, so I thought it was about time. It’s about three weeks since my return to Oslo after a fine christmas holiday. I’m working quite a lot on Bunnpris. Beside that, there’s not much news to tell about. The winter has arrived in Oslo with a bit of snow, it’s cold but nice and fresh to go for a walk around in the city. Today I’ve been to the cinema seeing “Blood Diamond” with a free ticket. It was a very good film. I also went to “Scotsman” pub and saw Arsenal - Man U. The match ended with a 2-1 win for the gunners, a disappointing result. But Chelsea also lost their game this weekend, so things are still looking pretty good.

My life in Oslo

Posted by Morten in General

Oslo

It’s one and a half month since my move to Oslo. I’ve begun adjusting to the big city life and feels quite comfortable. But it has not been so easy to get a job as I might thought. I’ve been searching for a long time without result. It has been critical, my economy has been decreasing more and more. It was almost like I had to be a beggar on Karl Johan. But now there’s hope. I’ve got a job on Bunnpris, a well known place for me. It’s no dreamjob, but better than being a beggar. Beside the jobsituation things are going good. I got a okay place to live. But it’s a bit hardcore neighbourhood with sirens all day long, gandja dealing and suspicious foreigners..

End of summer

Posted by Morten in General

The last summer month is over. Now comes the dark and rainy autumn. But it seems like the summer weather will continue for some time here up in the north, it’s sunny and quite warm and fine. It’s been a nice summer with many activities. The highlight was the Roskilde festival in Denmark. Here’s one last summer-picture of me with some beautiful girls on the beach. ;)

North-Norwegian summer

Posted by Morten in General

Hello again. It’s been some time since I wrote something here, so I thought it was time. I’ve been on a trip to Fleinvær, a verry nice island outside Bodø. The weather was excellent, we went fishing and bading on a fine beach among other. Then came the weekend with my grand slam peach-wine party. It was fun. After that I’ve also been on a boat-trip to Landegode and climbed to the top of Stegtinden. Hard and macho. So you can say I’m enjoying the summer that’s finally arrived in North-Norway :) Here are some pictures from my trips.

Roskilde Festival 2006

Roskilde, my tent
My tent on the camping

I’m back from Roskilde. It was a great festival with lots of good conserts. The weather was also verry good, sunshine and about 25 degrees every day..but it was extremely hot to lie in a tent in that heat. Denmark is a fantastic country, I’ve nothing bad to say about them apart from their way of speaking, it’s hard to understand a Dane. Their food was fantastically good, all kinds of sorts and the prices was low. The trip started with a fine journey by the sea with “Danskebåten”. Then came the big shock as we arrived at the camping Tuesday evening. It was enormously big and the amount of people was incredibly high. Probably about 100 000 in total. The actual festival began on Thursday, and since then we’ve been watching artists like Annie Nightingale (a 64 year old DJ!), Sigur Ros, Gogol Bordello, Bob Dylan, Scissor Sisters, many cool electronica bands (Tiga, Steve Angello,Coldcut among others), great reggae, Kanye West, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and much more! The best consert was maybe “The Streets”. Cool hiphop-music and fantastic atmosphere. It was six consert tents on the festival place, my favourite tent was “Metropol”. This was the electronica/dance/trance-tent. One week goes fast, sadly it’s over, I might be back next year. Rock on!
